2010 - Chaining and Tracking workshop with Steve White in Calgary, Alberta. 2010 – continued in-home behavior expert consultations, training and mentoring. Continued field and literary research. 2010 - Communication and stress workshop with Suzanne Clothier in Guelph, Ontario. 2007 - Jesus Rosales-Ruiz and Kellie Snider seminar on CAT = Constructive Aggression Therapy in Ottawa, Ontario. 2006-2007 – designed and instructed companion dog classes in Calgary and Cochrane, AB. 2002-2007 – adopted and rehabilitated our feral-born mutt Willkommen. Journaled her progress and published the book “Dump Dog”. 1995-2007 – founded and co-owned Baby Barks, a holistic dog food and consulting business in Calgary, AB. 2003-2006 – housed, rehabilitated and re-homed numerous foster dogs who stayed with us anytime between seven days and six months – all the while keeping my own dogs stress free and content. 2001-2006 – more than 1000 volunteer hours at two humane societies. Duties included: dog walking; trainer assistant; head-start program = specialized training for difficult to adopt dogs; dog behavior assessment (initially I applied a short chart test, but designed a comprehensive test in 2003 and used that from then on ); designed and instructed group training classes; behavior modification; match making between dogs and potential adopters; telephone helpline and in-home help for new dog parents and foster homes. 2006 – attended a human/dog relationship seminar with Suzanne Clothier and a Sheep Herding Workshop with Randy Dye. 2005 – attended a Controlling the Drive workshop with Allan Bauman. Attended the CAPPDT – Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers – conference. Guest speakers included Ray Coppinger, Dr. Patricia McConnell, Steve White, Trish King, Pia Silvani, and other internationally acclaimed dog behavior experts. Applied for, and was accepted as a Professional CAPPDT member. 2004 – attended an Aggression seminar with Brenda Aloff – that left me deeply disturbed. I learned a lot by learning what NOT do to. 2002 – attended a Calming Signal and Dealing with Stress seminar with world renowned Norwegian Behavior Expert Turid Rugaas. 2001 – 2002 – attended Dog Behavior 101 and Dog Behavior Assessment Seminars. 2000 – attended a Dog Aggression Seminar with the Calgary Board of Education. 1999 – completed the Meisterfeld Correspondence Dog Training Course. 1995 – began extensive literary and observational field research into dog behavior and behavioral sciences. 1993 – Ongoing – dog owner of both pedigreed pooches and rescued mutts. Participated in obedience, Rally O, Freestyle, tracking. Enjoy daily off-leash outings in secluded areas and wood paths, busy dog parks and multi-use parks. Educational and professional background: German and Canadian educated Nutritionist with completed courses in Holistic Therapy. Counseled clients and instructed seminars on health and lifestyle for the Community College in Rastatt/Germany.
